What I've been up to: Wanted to say hello to everyone. It sure is nice to read the contact list and

by since I was at AFCENT. I have a lot of fond memories and remember all the

What I've been up to:Hello! I've moved around quite a bit since H.S.
After graduating from the Univ. of New Hampshire, I moved "home" to
AFCENT where my parents and brother Jon have been since '87. I went on
to work and play in Chiemsee as a lifeguard, and Garmisch in the Ski
Lodge for 3 years. What a great time! There I met my fiance Henry. From
there we moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA where I worked as a hospital
receptionist, ski instructor, and horse ranch guide. Last year we moved
here to Boulder,CO. I'm working for University Hospital. Henry and I
both practice with the Boulder Road Runners 3-4 x per week. It's a
running mecca here. Henry's turning out to be quite a marathon runner
and I'm hoping to run my first marathon in Portland, OR in October. When
we're not running we're playing with my horse Chanel and her new baby
Mayfair. We're planning to be married on May 22,'99. Susie, my sister is
in Philadelphia working as the Art Director at an advertising agency.
You can contact her through my e-mail. Jon just graduated from AFCENT
and is off to Notre Dame this fall. Please Write! Kristen

Moscow, Idaho where I attended College). I am working as a cosmetologist
at a small shop in Pullman. I get to use my drama training for my church,
as I'm the Drama Supervisor -- lots of work but lots of fun. Life is good
- most of the time (smile).

What I've been up to:My family returned to the Seattle area in August
of 1985 and my father retired from the Air Force. Some of you should
remember my older brother Doug - Class of '84. Anyway, I finished high
school just outside of Seattle, but I have to agree with some of the
other comments on this page - it just wasn't the same as what we all had
together at AFCENT and I still miss that. On a good note, however, there
are quite a few '80 classmates in western Washington.
I got my B.A. in Communications at Washington State University in 1991,
(and yes, we would have won this year's Rose Bowl if they had let us
actually finish the game!). Having spent most of my college years as a
cadet, I went into the Air Force and suffered through four and a half
years as a Missile Launch Officer and Public Affairs Officer in North
Dakota. Not as much fun as I would have liked. At the end of 1996, I
gave up my commission and returned to be near my family in Seattle. Last
year Doug and his wife had a baby girl named Christine. We all enjoy
watching this precious little girl twist "Mr. MIT" (Doug) around her
little finger. (I think she's actually smarter than he is). Since
leaving North Dakota, I have been working for Boeing as a public
relations manager and spend a lot of time managing content and news for
the Boeing web. I plan to attend the AFCENT reunion this October. Hope
to see you there!

What I've been up to:
After I returned to the States, I went to the University of Oklahoma
where my roommate was also a '87 graduate from AFCENT, Larry Pfeifer. I
dropped out of school and enlisted in the Air Force from '89 - '93 where
I was fortunate enough to be station at Minot AFB, North Dakota. Yeah!
I spent my time working on the B-52 at either Minot, Guam, or Ellsworth,
South Dakota. Before I got out, I had the opportunity to be part of the
B-2 program; however, I declined and got out.
I finished my degree at the University of Washington (go Huskies). I
attained my BS in Electrical Engineering. I am currently working for an
affiliate of Qualcomm Inc., or rather a spin-off company of Qualcomm's
(name of company will be released hopefully by the end of October) that
will providing wireless communications. I'm a network engineer/radio
frequency (RF) engineer/bss (switch) engineer all wrapped into one.
I married a native of Washington state -- her name is Sarah and we have
a two-year-old son named Austin and another on the way, due in December
of 1998. Here is my e-mail address that will never change: mckinley@fan.com.

What I've been up to:
I'm thrilled to see so many folks posted on the page. A little
information on me over the past 9 years: I came back to Arizona, got my
undergrad degree in Political Science from Northern Arizona University.
Then I went to Washington DC, where I got my Masters in United States
Foreign Policy. Instead of following the standard path into the state
department, I went to Sarajevo to start a radio show that sought to bring
people together in a kind of reconciliation effort. I went there in 1995,
near the end of the war, and, outside of some short trips home, just came
back in July of 1998. For most of that time, I was working for an
international non-governmental organization called Search for Common
Ground, with funding from the UN, USAID, the European Union and some
national embassies. Now I'm just trying to get back into what I originally
intended to do, which was local state politics.
Comments: I'm really looking
forward to the 89 reunion in Austin. Hello to everyone for whom my
correspondence has become delinquent. Please email me at kenc@igc.org to
say hello!

What I've been up to:After my family was assigned to the Pentagon I mucked out my final years
in hick hell at a highshool in Northern Virginia (to be Prom Queen you
had to have a gun rack - get the idea?) where I was mostly involved in
the performing arts and sports. I received an English scholarship(see
Mr. Tickfer, all that badgering did help!) and studied both English and
Journalism with a minor in music (voice) at California State University,
Long Beach. At Long Beach State I ran into Mary Pope also an AIHS
alumn '86, who was engaged at the time and also attending the
university. She has a sister Vicky, '83 alumni, who went to AIHS as
well. My college experience was an outstanding learning, growing,
imbibing heck of a good time! I backpacked through Europe the summer
before my senior year and had a chance to return to AFCENT to wax
nostalgic. It was the summer they were completing the new additions and
I could see how the old school was morphing into something I would soon
no longer recognize, though I understand some of the traditions hold
fast, ie: skipping school in the Heide, not inhaling, etc. After
college I married a Limey - yup, a Brit - we've since divorced, he
turned out to be a complete self-loving smuck. The marriage had some
merit, I'm legal to work in England for the rest of my life and have
recently returned from working outside of London for two fantastic
years!!! Between all that aforementioned stuff, I worked in the music
industry, primarily in concert staging and production, and did a run as
a back-up singer in the L.A. area. I've recently returned to school to
get my teaching credential at Sacramento State Univ., Calif. Those of
you who remember me are probably terrified that I will be molding minds
of the future -- perhaps I'll end up teaching at AIHS????!!!???
Comments:My years at AFCENT had such a strong influence on who I am today. I can
only hope when I have children they will be afforded the opportuntiy to
be part of a community/school that acts as a partnership in caring for
one another. I have quite a few phone numbers and addresses for those of
you trying to contact anyone between 1979 - 1985. Some people I hung out
with: Eric and Heidi Arneson, Diana McKinney, Jane Jones, Robin Wright,
Phillipa Garrett, Tim Schwab, Robin Kollenborn, Phil Serrin, Sheryl,
Susan and Laura Swilley, Annette Grigsy, Lloni Jarvis, Anne Morin, Donny
Wilkins, John Doble, Gardner, Russel Bailey, Michael and Heather
Bavaria, Nanette and Tracy Piccolo, Kevin and Susan Keipp, Jenny and Bob
Sparks, Eric Faison, The Infamous Cannooks - THE CURLEIGHS (James, John,
George and Sarah), Tony Anderman, Robbie Jones, Bobby Price, Rusty
Thomas, Chris DiBella, Nicky and Tina Stead, James Pettis, Paula
Vlammings, Bill and Missy Criss etc. etc. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE! Hi to
Mr. Tickfer, Mr. Slayton, Mr. Calvert, Ms. Messer, Ms. Ford, Mr. Florey,
Buehler, Buehler, Buehler...

What I've been up to: I can't believe it's been 8 years already. I
graduated from AFCENT in 1990, then travelled and worked for a year
before returning to Ontario to start my university career. After
getting my BA in Psych I took another year off, then did my Masters in
Clinical Social Work. I am now a Child Protection Worker doing child
abuse investigations. I am happily single and have two wonderful girls
(ok, they're actually cats) Sky and Summer. I've been here for 7 years
now and although this is a fantastic place to live, I'm getting a little
claustrophobic, so I hope to travel again soon.
Comments: I'm still in touch with Melinda (Dodd) Talcovitz and Verena

snail mail address. My email is tlparker@sprint.ca, and for those ICQ

would love to hear from any fellow AFCENTers.

What I've been up to:
I just came across the web page for AFCENT. This is great. My twin
sister Cindy and I graduated from AFCENT in 1982. I live in Richland,
Missouri now with my husband and 3 children where I teach (of all
things) Spanish and French. I have seriously considered teaching for
DODDSEUR so my kids can have some the experiences I had. My sister
lives in Dickson, Tennessee with her husband and 3 kids. I wish I had
seen the site sooner so we could have made plans for the meeting in
Vegas, but maybe next time. If you hear from any others from 80-82,
give them my e-mail. I'd love to know where Maureen Sullivan is now.
Comments:
I was saddened at the news of Mr. Tryons death. I was his office aid my
senior year, he was a great principal. I heard quite a while back about
Mrs. Gage, she, too, was a tremendous loss to the profession.
Anyway, it was great to let out a few reminiscences. Thanks for
reading! I look forward to any further news about old lions.

What I've been up to:
After graduating from Afcent I moved to Casper, Wyoming
to attend Casper Junior College. I was a little nervous once I arrived-never
seen a true cowboy. After receiving my Associates I transferred to Western
State College in Gunnison, Colorado. A lot of beautiful country up there.
While achieving my Bachelors degree I also was engaged, but that did not last
long. In 1996 I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and
Accounting. From Gunnison I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to work with
the airline industry. It is now 1998 and I own a condo in Denver, Colorado
and I am a Shift Supervisor for United Express Airlines. Working for the
airlines has allowed me to travel to a lot of interesting places.

What I've been up to: Besides working on this site! *laugh* I started off the comments in June 1996 and thought it was time for a catchup. I noted then that I might be moving to Chile for my job; well, while I'll still get to go to Chile for visits, I'll actually be moving to Hawaii in June of this year (1999) instead. Aloha! I'm also in my last semester of graduate school, for my Master's degree in Information and Library Sciences; the job I'm going to is that of Observatory Librarian. I'm quite looking forward to it!
Comments: The site has taken off past my expectations, and I'm so glad! Thanks to everyone for their support.

What I've been up to: After leaving Afcent in July 1994, I moved to Clovis, New Mexico and begun
my first year of college. Sophomore year brought me to the State
University of New York, College at Oneonta. I spent three great years
here and graduated in May of 98 with a degree in Elementary Education. I
am now working as a Residence Hall Director at Oneonta State while I work
toward my Masters in Education. I have been lucky enough to continue my
interest in teaching by working with college students that are Education
majors. The program I am involved with has kept me up to my neck in
bulletin boards children's book. I love every minute of it! While my
true desire is to teach, I have been having a wonderful experience in the
area of Residence Life and Student Development. It will help me so much
when I get to have my own elementary classroom in the next year or two.
Comments: I have been keeping up with the AFCENT pages for a few years. It's always
nice to go back and see familiar names and read about what people are
doing. I just want to say a special hello to the Class of 94. Hope
everyone is doing well. We should start planning a get together before
too long. That would be great! I would love to hear from anyone...I
still find myself walking down memory lane of my days at AFCENT. My

What I've been up to: I went to Afcent from '89 to '91. I made some very good friends
there, most of whom I lost track of unfortunately. I stumbled on this
page at the suggestion of Monica Longbine and Christine Harris. I
found them again about a week ago. I was so shocked to see that I
remembered so many people. God, this really brings back memories.
When we came back to the states I got heavily into the rock-n-roll
scene. I started hanging out in local clubs in the Dallas area and
played with my hair color several times. It's back to blonde now. A
little older and wiser. I have moved probably 20 times since we came
back to the states. It's that military thing....you just can't get it
out of your blood. I am now going to school in Tyler, Texas. Will be
moving to California this May to finish college. In search of a BA in
Hospitality Management. Want to have my own hotel someday in the San
Francisco area. High ambitions, what can I say? I lost track of a
bunch of people when I moved back, if anyone has heard from them or
knows how to get in touch with them, please drop me a line. (Bryan
Sykes, Lisa Steffe, Shelly Verill, Heather Vice, Chris Pitts, Kelly
O'neill) There are more, but any information would be appreciated. I
spoke with Monica Longbine and Christine Harris about a week ago.
Christine just had a baby girl in January. Her name is Hailey. I
think that is how she spelled it. Monica has a three year old son
named Tristan and is joining the Air Force in about three weeks. When
I moved back, Afcent just seemed like a dream to me. It seemed like
it all happened so quick. I've been back almost 8 years now, to
discover that people still miss it as much as I do really means a lot.
Some of you might remember my brother, Brandon Rogers. He has a five
year old son named Jarryd. Brandon lives in the Dallas area and is
going to college now to become a pilot.
Comments: I am attaching my e-mail

grade. After returning to Virginia, I graduated in 85 in Newport
News, VA at Denbigh HS (not far from Jane Jones, now Melissa
Bates-some of us knew her name was Melissa-we were in band class
together). After HS, I moved to Pensacola, Florida to lounge on the
beach for a year and a half and on to New Orleans for five years. Now
I'm in Seattle for almost seven years. My email at home is

Comments:
I realized today that it's been 10 years since graduation. I'm stunned.
A decade later, I still have a recurring dream about running from the
old gym to the 500 building in the pouring rain. Everyone I know talks
about how awful their high school years were. I must be repressing
something, because I think I had a great time. Didn't I? I'm in Maryland
now, just outside Washington, D.C. I'm an editor at EQUUS magazine
(nothing to do with the homoerotic play - find it on a newsstand and
you'll understand.) Three years ago I married a newspaper reporter with
a funny last name. No kids yet, but we do have the world's coolest dog
and a horse named Giraffe.

What I've been up to: After Afcent I moved to Houston, TX., and went to

So maybe one day we will be back at AFCENT!!

What I've been up to: After leaving AFCENT in 1992 I attended Valley Forge
Military College, in Wayne PA. From there I earned an ARMY ROTC scholarship
