What I've been up to: Hello everyone,
When i was there from 76-79 I actually attended 2 schools, one was a British Annex, and the other was the AFCENT school which was kinder -12th grade. I lived in Geleen and had to ride the bus with about12-15 other students, all at different grade levels. How i wound up at the British Annex I'll never know? anyway, i was an oddity at the Annex being American/Hispanic plus being from Texas added to the mystery. At lunch time everyone wanted to sit next to me to see all of the American goodies in my scooby lunchpail. As soon as the pink snowballs creme cakes, and twinkies were revealed, it was mayhem! everyone wanted to trade me their pumpernickle or rye bread sandwiches for my sweets. and forget about Cheetos i never saw them again, as soon as i would pass them around. after two years of that i got moved to AFCENT for 5th grade. While at 5th grade every morning befre school we would play marbles near the main entrance off to the right underneath a metal roof adjacent to a external building. there i honed my skills with cat's eyes and bumblebee's. during winter we would re-hash the 2nd WW and it would be the American, British, Dutch, and Canadian kids, against the German and Italian kids. in the main courtyard of the school nearest the field we would get certified in riding our bikes, there would be a course layed out, also at the basketball court there would be a minature scaled down street course complete with lights/crosswalks/ stop/yield signs etc... and then on every friday we would walk down the long street and go to the indoor swimming pool.while i was there i was in Troop 100 Cubscouts/Webelos? and Boyscouts we once took a ride to Germany from our scout building next to the military clinic and rode our bicycles to a Mcdonalds. Our Scout master almost did not let me go due to i was the only one with a dirt bike while everyone else had 3&10 speeds. My father convinced the Scoutmaster and off i went and i was one of the youngest. I had a glorious time there, and i would repeat it over and over again. too many stories to tell. Take care everyone

What I've been up to: Well, it has been a long 19 years since I left AFCENT and I have to say The Netherlands was the BEST place I have ever lived! I still keep in touch with allot of people through facebook and Myspace and it is great. I am sad to say that a great friend of many of us (Chris Pitts) tragically was killed on Apr 3, 09. He was a great person and a friend to so many of us there.
Well, on that sad note... as for me... once I left AFCENT I moved back to Amarillo TX (where I graduated HS in 92). I then got into cosmetology and HATED it! I married my first husband who was in the Air Force and we moved around a bit. We had 2 kids, divorced 7 years ago. I joined the Air Force in 1999 at 25 and stayed in 7 years. I married again in 04 and we had a baby in 06. We have 4 total kids between us and it is chaotic. I live in Abilene TX now and work at the Air Force base ther as a civilian. For anyone that knew me and wants to contact me I am on facebook, myspace or just email me.

I have served in the Army for the eighteen years and I am looking to retire in 2012. Will not be able to attend our 20th reunion due to my next Iraq deployment. I completed my first 1,000 hours of flight time and was picked up for promotion to Chief Warrant Office 3. What I've been up to: Wow... what "haven't" I been up to. Let's see, graduated HS in Lawrence, KS in '86, joined the Army in '87 (stationed in Germany). After the Gulf War ('91), I got out and moved to Colorado and had 2 children with my now ex-wife. Lived in CO for 7 years and moved to Houston, TX for a better job. Got divorced in TX and moved to UT (for a job). Remarried in '02, started my own business and moved to Washington to be closer to my kids. Lots of adventures along the way! Shoot me an email or tweet me @mauricesmiley sometime. Hope to hear from you guys.
